Our tadpoles have turned into froglets. We have 5 froglets now. The tadpoles in our other tank are just getting front legs. How exciting!
The Grade 4’s have found out who their Prep buddies are for next year. They had a teddy bear picnic with them last week. Next year’s preps are so cute!
We performed a song called “The Tadpole Blues” at assembly last week. It was a spectacular performance.
The class has been working hard on their frog projects. We have been sharing this week and assessing each other’s work. Only three weeks of school to go.

We are very excited because Cooper has brought in some tadpoles for us. We are keeping them in a big tank near our window. Thankyou for lending us a tank, Megan. The tadpoles love it.
We have all made some beautiful camp recount books. Before lunch today we shared our books with the Prep class.
Yesterday afternoon we played T-Ball on the oval. James got a home run! We have also tried out the new fitness equipment. It’s hard work but we’re all getting fitter.

Camp Week
October 19th, 2008 by grade34p
This week we went to Camp Gundiwindi. We had two birthdays at camp. Sophie turned 9 and Hayley turned 10. The best things about camp were the Giant Swing and the Flying Fox. The Giant Swing went up 18 metres. We had a night walk with our torches and toasted marshmallows on the campfire. At the bushdance we had to dance with partners. The boys didn’t ask any girls to dance. What a shame!
Gemma accidentally stepped off the flying fox platform. She didn’t realise she had done it because she was talking too much.
We all had a fabulous time at camp.

Term 3, Week 10
September 20th, 2008 by grade34p
We ended the term with a bang this week. On Monday we had our last Mad Monday of the Term. Some beautiful masks were made in Art. Check them out in the coridoor. Mrs. T has put on a beautiful display. 3/4P also made lots of noise on the glockanspiels in music class.
On Tuesday we did some writing all about the Loch Ard Gorge. The class turned their writing into artwork by making the words look like the ocean. We had a party food day on Wednesday. Thankyou to the parents who organised it. The food was great and there was so much of it. Yum!
On Thursday we had Ms Ryeland in our class. The class were able to do some special jobs around the school.
Friday was a day of mixed emotions. We had to say goodbye to one of our favourite classmates, Tashara. Holly and Arianna choreographed a dance for assembly especially for Tashara. All the girls involved did an amazing job. She is such a special person and has brought so much to our class and to the school. We know that she will have a fabulous time at her new school and will have lots of extra time to ride her pony now that her new school is so close to the farm.
Goodbye Tashara. We will miss you.
Have a safe and happy holiday, everyone!

Term 3, Week 7
August 29th, 2008 by grade34p
A lot of people have brought in some fabulous homework that the whole class has found to be very interesting. Natalie and James C brought in photographs of Phillip Island and the Great Ocean Road. Megan did a Power Point on Warnambool, Blake did a show on Bright and Sovereign HIll and Tashara did a show on Yellingbo. Sophie did a great Power Point show on Mornington and Cooper made a show all about his adventures at Robinvale. We certainly have some computer whizzes in our class.
On Monday we had a visit from Oz Opera. They performed Cinderella. Jorja-Lee though it was funny and Gemma thought it was loud. We all thought the Prince was really funny and our favourite bit was when the Prince and Clorinda were racing towards the glass slipper in slow motion.

Term 3, Week 6
August 27th, 2008 by grade34p
This week we have been learning all about the Olympics. Our class has been keeping a medal tally. Each student had to pull the name of a country out of a hat and then track that country’s success at the Olympics. We have been practising our tallying skills and we are all getting good at counting by 5’s. This will help us in our Speedy maths over the next two weeks.
On Tuesday, Mr Armstrong organised an Olympic Day. We split into groups and rotated around to five different activities. We played handball, soccer, basketball and hockey and we also watched Olympics and wrote a postcard. Bryce recieved a special gold medal for his sportsmanship. Good on you, Bryce! On Friday we had Peer Support, Pals and Buddies.

Term 3 Week 5
August 18th, 2008 by grade34p
Last week was a huge! Our J-Rock performance at Hisense Arena was out of this world. It was such a fabulous experience for everyone. All the Menzies Creek children were brilliant. It was such a delight to spend the day with all of you. I loved seeing the excitement on your faces and best of all, I think everyone had a fun time. There were smiles all around! You were so friendly to the kids from the other schools. It’’s no wonder we won the award for the friendliest, most encouraging school on the day. I am so unbelievably proud of every single one of you who participated in J-Rock. You performed your little hearts out and you impressed everybody in the audience, especially your parents and your teachers. It will always be a day and night to remember. Menzies Creek Primary School Rocks!!!
Love Miss Petersen
